As organizations develop holistic insider risk programs, leaders face the daunting task of engaging enterprise stakeholder and aggregating disparate data sources to enable improved detection and early response to incidents of trade secret exfiltration, IT sabotage, fraud, and workplace violence. Building an enterprise wide insider risk program is no longer a novel idea. It is a necessary step a mature organization must take to protect critical assets, prevent unintentional employee mistakes and deter malicious insiders. However, building a program can be expensive, time-consuming, and require expertise in implementation.

During this session, we will discuss characteristics and capabilities that are critical to a successful insider risk program and highlight themes in industry leading program. Topic areas will include functional and technical capabilities such as prevent, detect, deter, respond and enabling capabilities like training and awareness, privacy, governance, strategy and policy. We will review industry use cases that demonstrate why a holistic program is the best and only solution, discuss the challenges organizations may face and ways leaders can take advantages of existing capabilities to jumpstart, advance or mature an existing program for any size organization.

This presentation will include:

1. An overview of industry use cases and why a holistic approach to Insider Risk must be the operating model for smart organizations moving forward

2. Recognize existing capabilities that can be leveraged to initiate or advance an insider risk program

3. Understand how both technology and employee behavior must be taken into consideration when designing, building and implementing an insider risk program

4. A review of both functional/technical and enabling control areas to consider when building an insider risk program

5. Recommendations for how organizations can begin their journey towards a holistic program and smart ways to advance their existing program

6. An opportunity for Q&A between the presenters and the audience
